first_imgWhere do they live? Use geographical data to pinpoint areas for new growth. Knowledge is power. The more you learn about your members and your market, the more successful your credit union will be. Because more than 81% of American households bank online,* data gleaned from your website can provide you with valuable information on how to better serve existing members and attract new members, both online and off.But how do you collect this information? Our favorite tool is Google Analytics, a free, robust service that tracks and reports website traffic. Most new websites have Google Analytics built in (check with your website admin), but if yours doesn’t, it’s easy to implement.Once your Analytics account has been running for a few months, you’ll start to accrue some useful data that can be applied to your operations and marketing efforts. For example:Learning Member/Prospect BehaviorsHow do visitors arrive at your site? Do they search “credit union” in Google? If so, you may want to do some paid search marketing. Are they being referred from a SEG website? If so, you may want to hold open enrollment events at that SEG. How many visitors use desktop vs. tablet vs. mobile? Are your tablet and mobile numbers steadily increasing? Consider replacing your current website with one that is mobile responsive. Evaluate your other online services for mobile functionality.  Identifying Trends in the MarketWhat product pages are visited the most? As the economy fluctuates, so do the saving and borrowing habits of your members. By keeping an eye on what product pages your web visitors view most, you’ll be aware when consumer trends shift and can beat your competitors to the punch with new products and offers. What devices are your visitors using? Today it’s the iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy, tomorrow…who knows? Watch this data to stay on top of technology changes and ensure that your website and services are compatible and up-to-date.Tracking the Effectiveness of Marketing CampaignsGoogle Analytics can also help you track your marketing initiatives. Here’s how:For every campaign, event, or news item you wish to track, create a promotional page on your website. For example, if you’re offering a special auto loan rate, create a page explaining the offer and how it will benefit the member/prospect.Be sure to add a call to action to the page such as “Apply now! Click here” and link to an online application or “Call Wendy at 123.456.7890.” As your campaign is running or when it has ended, view the promotional page data in Google Analytics. You’ll see how many people visited the page, if they came from elsewhere online (Facebook, a SEG website, etc), how long they viewed the page, and more. For more information on using Google Analytics to track your website, contact Jeff Kjoller at 214.827.2600, extension 104.Contributing Author: Erin Ortizcenter_img Drive members/prospects to this promotional page by putting the page link on all marketing pieces – direct mail, Facebook, Twitter, email blasts, newspaper ads, etc. 24SHARESShareShareSharePrintMailGooglePinterestDiggRedditStumbleuponDeliciousBufferTumblr,Jeff Kjoller Jeff has extensive experience in branding, art direction and graphic design, having served employers and clients in a creative capacity for more than twenty-five years. first_imgJIM McGUINNESS has insisted he hasn’t been offered any positions at Celtic or Liverpool, but wouldn’t rule out considering any offers if he was given them in the future. The Donegal manager has been linked in various newspapers with jobs in soccer in Britain since winning the All-Ireland.The sports psychologist told the Shaun Doherty Show today that he has had no approaches from any teams but found the links “very flattering.” “I was invited over to Celtic a few weeks ago to a Champions League match and I went to the training grounds. It was a fantastic set-up,” he said. But there were no offers of jobs, pointing out that he would look at any that were made.“I suppose if Highland offered me a position you’d have to sit down and talk to them,” said McGuinness.“If a professional football team and came in and said they were interested in talking to you then it is something you’d have to consider. I am a young man with three children and you would consider it,” he said. The All-Ireland winner said he had worked with golfers, Derry City and Finn Harps but added: “If something came up I’d talk it over with my wife – that would be the approach.”Jim is a big Celtic and Arsenal fan – and he praised Neil Lennon for how he ran his team in Glasgow. The manager gave a wide-ranging interview on the success at Croke Park.Asked if he realised that he was being hero-worshipped by Donegal fans all over the world, he said: “It’s not something I’m even aware of because you live in your own wee bubble.”He said he had heard all sorts of stories about fans before and after the match and how they had celebrated. But he said he had never experienced Donegal as a supporter – always as a player or as a manager.McGuinness spoke again of his satisfaction in seeing his players climb the Hogan Stand to lift the Sam Maguire, a satisfaction shared by his assistant Rory Gallagher and the rest of the backroom team.Asked about walking out of the Croke Park press conference until Declan Bogue – the journalist – had left, the Donegal manager again referred to Bogue’s book and insisted he had got several things wrong.“If you are a Christian you have to forgive people; it was about people wanting the bread buttered on both sides. There were things that weren’t true in his book,” he said. “This fella can write x, y and z and then expect to come in to fill their back pages on the back of our All-Ireland success….I wasn’t happy to do that interview.”McGuinness said it was now “water under the bridge”.“Even if there was a full page apology the people who read the book wouldn’t see the apology,” he said.He went on: “You have to have your principles and you have to stand up for yourself.”The Donegal manager also praised his team members for their dedication to the county. He also promised fans abroad that they may take the Sam Maguire to Boston and New York in the coming months.Asked about the Late Late Show visit – which was just four minutes – Jim refused to become embroiled in the controversy. He said they had been in RTE for three or four hours and the team enjoyed the experience and meeting other guests.“It was a good experience for them (the players),” he said.He said people in Donegal probably wanted more on the programme because the appetite was so strong. The manager said he wanted to say ‘thank you’ to all of the fans for their support and messages of congratulations.JIM McGUINNESS: ‘I HAVE NOT BEEN APPROACHED BY CELTIC OR LIVERPOOL’ was last modified: October 8th, 2012 by BrendaShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Tags:CelticDonegal GAAJim McGuinnessLiverpoollast_img read more
