Heerenveen are looking for a striker after Odgaard, the starting striker this year, has to return to Sassuolo. JClub manager Johnny Jansen has made no secret that they would love to bring Huntelaar back. In a statement to Omrop Fryslan, the coach explained: “It would be wonderful. The Huntelaar name is always an option. Gerry Hamstra (Sports Director) will speak to him. Hopefully we could sign him.” Huntelaar’s situation in Ajax is still in the air. There is a law in the Netherlands that requires clubs to announce what they will do with players who end their contracts at the end of the season before April 1 and the Amsterdam club did not renew his contract. Although they could always reach an agreement in the coming months, it seems that he has finished his second stage at Ajax.“It would be nice to have a conversation with him. He is a good name for the Heerenveen, with his story … It would have a lot of value for us. But he has to want”Jansen acknowledged. The Hunter played sixty games between 2004 and January 2006 at Abe Lenstra Stadion, in which he scored 39 goals. After that year and a half he signed for Ajax.
