In honour of Mothers Day on the weekend we share

first_imgIn honour of Mother’s Day on the weekend, we share this clip from the 1985 movie National Lampoon’s European Vacation of the gaffe and goof-prone Griswalds. Here, Clark Griswold (played by Chevy Chase) drives the family around London’s Lambeth Bridge roundabout for hours, unable to break left. The kids roll their eyes in the back seat, escaping into their walkman headphones. All the while, mother Griswald, Ellen (played by Beverly D’Angelo) keeps her cool, and rather than lose patience with her bumbling ‘Sparky’ or panic, she falls asleep and lets him deal with it. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mums out there. May your day be spent planning your next getaway.  Flashback FridaylondonMother’s DayNational Lampoon’s European Vacationlast_img
